This booklet presents Sir Lionel Luckhoo’s personal explanation of why he believes in God and accepts the Christian faith. Rather than attempting a highly technical philosophical argument, Luckhoo combines classical arguments for God’s existence with observations from nature, human life, personal experience, Scripture, and the historical claims concerning Jesus Christ. He discusses cosmological, teleological, and other philosophical arguments while reflecting on examples such as childbirth, the complexity of the human body, a blade of grass, and the natural world. The booklet also considers God’s infinite nature, prayer, materialism, life after death, and the resurrection of Jesus. Luckhoo emphasizes that evidence and reasoning can lead a person toward belief but maintains that faith ultimately bridges the remaining gap. He concludes with an appeal for readers to move beyond merely knowing about God toward personally knowing Him and responding to Jesus Christ.
