This Christian apologetic booklet presents Sir Lionel Luckhoo’s critique of Islam and his argument that the Quran cannot be regarded as the Word of God. Addressing Muslim readers directly, Luckhoo compares Islamic and Christian claims concerning Jesus Christ, particularly His identity, virgin birth, miracles, sinlessness, death, resurrection, and deity. He develops four factors that he believes demonstrate Christ’s divine identity: fulfillment of earlier prophecy, supernatural conception and birth, a sinless and miraculous life, and victory over death. Luckhoo attempts to support these arguments using passages from the Quran alongside biblical texts. He then argues that statements about Jesus within the Quran conflict with its denial of Christ’s deity and concludes that such perceived contradictions prevent the Quran from being considered a perfect revelation from God. The booklet concludes with an explicitly evangelistic appeal encouraging Muslim readers to accept Jesus Christ as Son of God, Lord, and Savior.
