This book presents Jesus Christ’s redemptive work as liberation from the bondage of Satan, using Isaiah 61:1–2 and the imagery of an opened prison as its central theme. Kenneth Hagin Jr. teaches that each person must personally receive Christ and emphasizes dependence upon the Holy Spirit rather than imitation of other ministers. He describes sin, sickness, disease, and torment as forms of bondage from which Christ came to set people free. Drawing especially from Isaiah 53, Matthew 8, and Galatians 3, Hagin connects redemption with forgiveness, healing, and freedom from spiritual oppression. He argues that although Christ has already opened the β€œprison door,” believers must know what has been provided and respond to God’s Word in faith. The final chapter particularly emphasizes receiving divine healing in the present rather than continually postponing it to the future.
